Mikayla has always had a passion for working with flowers so she decided to design the arrangements for her own wedding. She opted for silk flowers due to the ease of arrangement in advance of the big day. During the wedding ceremony, hot winds gusted so strong that the DJ's speakers tipped over and the arch had to be held in place by the best man, however her silk flowers remained firmly in place and unscathed- much to Mikayla's relief!

 

After this experience, Mikayla discovered two things: she wanted to continue creating wedding arrangements, and silk flowers were a no-brainer for the unpredictable Montana weather. Thus Tilly Roots Floral was born, the name being inspired by Mikayla's maiden name (Tilstra) and her love for the Tobacco Root Mountains in southwestern Montana.
